Who develops PackageKit?

Richard Hughes

Richard has 6 years of experience developing open source software. He is the maintainer of PackageKit and GNOME Power Manager and contributes to HAL and OHM.

Ken VanDine

Ken is the Creator and Project Lead of Foresight Linux as well as a member of the GNOME Marketing team. Ken works on the Conary backend of PackageKit, as well as participating in PackageKit design discussions.

Boyd Timothy

Boyd is a member of the openSUSE GNOME team. He works on the Zypp backend of PackageKit. Boyd is also one of the maintainers of the Tomboy Notes project.

Robin Norwood

Robin has worked at Red Hat, Inc. since 2001, and is currently on the Desktop team. He works on the Yum backend of PackageKit, as well as the Python frontend.

Tom Parker

Tom has recently been completing his PhD at the Delft University of Technology, and has been working on the Apt backend for PackageKit in his spare time, as well as working with the Gnome BugSquad.

Tim Lauridsen

Tim has 4 years of experience developing open source software. He is the maintainer of Yum Extender and yum-utils and contributes to Fedora, Yum and other FLOSS projects. He works on the Yum backend of PackageKit and the general PackageKit python backend classes.

Luke Macken

Luke works on the Yum backend of PackageKit, as well as the general Python backend code. He hacks on Fedora full-time and contributes to various open-source projects such as yum, func, and bodhi. Luke recently graduated from RIT with a degree in Computer Science, and has been working for Red Hat, Inc. since 2005.

Grzegorz Dąbrowski

Grzegorz has 5 years of experience developing open source software. He has a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science. Since 2005 he has been working as an an engineer in Advanced Digital Broadcast in R&D group. He is also the founder and the main developer of Pingwinek Linux independent distribution. He is also interested in Haiku OS project.

S.Çağlar Onur

Çağlar has 4 years of experience developing open source software. He has a B.S. in Computer Engineering and he is working as a full-time developer of Pardus Linux since 2003. He is also the Release Manager of "Pardus 2007" and contributes some FLOSS projects as a part of his daily job.

Çağlar works on the PiSi backend of PackageKit.

Elliot Peele

Elliot is a software engineer for rPath, Inc. working on the distro team. He is a developer for the Foresight Linux project and a contributor to Anaconda. Elliot works on the Conary backend of PackageKit.

James is a frequent Yum and Fedora contributor. He has worked for Red Hat, Inc. since 2006.

Thomas Wood

Thomas is a software engineer at OpenedHand and is working on the Ipkg backend for OpenMoko. He takes no responsibility for the quality of Ipkg itself and hopes using PackageKit will allow a smooth transition to an alternative package management system in the future.

Scott Reeves

Scott is a member of the openSUSE GNOME team. He works on the Zypp backend of PackageKit. Scott is also one of the maintainers of the gnome-main-menu project.

Aurelien Lefebvre

Aurelien is student at the University of Marne-la-Vallee (Paris Est), and half time working for Mandriva. He works on the urpmi backend of PackageKit.

Sebastian Heinlein

Sebastian is a geratic nurse and Free software volunteer from Germany. He rewrote the apt backend to turn it into a dbus daemon. The main focus of his development work is package management including the corresponding user interfaces, see here for a list of further contributions.

Andres is a Computer Science Engineer mexican what enjoy working with Free Software and Open Source. He rewrote the conary backend and implement a new Cache. Mounir is a student at INSA Lyon a french engineering university. He is also a Gentoo developer. He began his work for the portage backend in the context of his GSOC in 2009.

Fabio is the Sabayon Linux project leader, freelance IT consultant and student at the University of Trento (Italy). He is also a Gentoo developer. He began helping out on the Portage backend and is also responsible of the implementation of the Entropy one.

Daniel Nicoletti

Daniel is another geeky developer who aims to make computing easier. Graduated at the UNASP - Adventist University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) with a degree in Computer Science. Started contributing with PackageKit writting KPackageKit (now renamed to Apper) and later created the aptcc backend.
